We sure had a great time with the 2008 Great Pumpkin Contest! Let’s do it again next year! We were fortunate enough to have Ron Percival, KTVN morning weather man, be our guest judge. You might notice that he is sporting some Pitts handiwork along with Damon brackets.
Here’s Ron with his pick for the best overall winner from Dr. Amaral’s office. Dr. Amaral’s office and four other lucky offices won lunch for the entire staff.

There is nothing good about having a child with Type I Diabetes. And this year marks the seventh year that our son Hunter has been living with a disease that is, well, the pits — 24/7! But every year when October rolls around and it’s time again for the JDRF Walk, I’m reminded of just how lucky we are to have so many amazing friends who, without fail, show up in the Quad at UNR to show their support for Hunter and our family. This year, team It’s The Pitts raised $10,000.00. Dozens of our friends and family, the staff at Pitts Orthodontics — and lots of their friends — showed up bright and early on a frigid Sunday morning to raise money for juvenile diabetes research. In the past six years, since Hunter was diagnosed, together we’ve raised $150,000.00. It’s humbling to realize how many people are rallying for us and all the other kids who live with this disease every day. All we can say is thank you.
